Overall: I purchased this based on the Choice ratings and reviews here. I am very pleased with the decision.
We only have used it for latte's and cappuccinos so far - am yet to learn how to froth the milk to make a hot chocolate (not even sure if this is possible) - or teach myself how to increase the cup size to mug or 2 mugs at a time. But I think the programming is possible? The only drawback i can see is the tray on top does not warm the cups & it is a little loud in the morning when it's automatically turning on according to our programming.
It does make a significant difference in taste with the temperature and beans you use. We've tried hot temp and Vittorio and Gloria Jeans beans & have adjusted to standard temp and Gloria's beans (we don't usually like Gloria Jeans coffee).
Would like to see some videos on their website or YouTube of how to make different coffees of different sizes, strengths etc. with this particular model.
